The AIDA Model Marketing describes four stages a consumer goes through before he/she makes a purchasing decision. These stages are Attention, Interest, Desire, and Action (AIDA).

This is simple to understand, in AIDA your content will ideally attract attention to your brand, and generate interest in your product or service, stimulate a desire for it, and then spur action to try or purchase your product.


 

How AIDA Model Marketing Started

An eventual inductee of the advertising hall of fame, Elias St. Elmo Lewis wrote in a printing magazine called The Inland Printer (one of the most influential American magazine of the 19th century.) in the year 1898.

In Elias’s writings, he stated that a “successful advertisement should always follow a specific formula”. He also explained further that the successful mission of an advertisement is to attract a reader, make sure that he/she looks at the advertisement and starts to read it; then to interest him, so as to make him/her continue to read it; and finally to convince him/her, so that after reading, he/she will believe it.

Your business must have content or strategy that will make people interested in your brand or products and services.

Closeness to your customers so as to easily move him/her from like to want your product, and to be loyal followers.

 

#5 – Action

Providing the best product and content to make or push one to take action like subscribe, like or join your groups and most importantly purchase your product.

 

#6 – Retention

Create relationships, build loyalty to retain your customers. Your customers are more likely to stay with you, and more likely to patronize you if you are loyal to them. Always reach out to them through email campaigns, calls, exclusive content, youtube and many more.

 

How to define your Business and use the AIDA Model Marketing successfully.

#1 – Ask yourself questions.

Before you even think of using the AIDA model marketing strategy, you must have a unique business that the world needs. Ask yourself questions like:

  1. What problem are you solving?
  2. How do I contribute to making the world a better place?

 

#2 – Then take actions as follows:

  1. Prepare a table with two columns for the problem and solution that your business solves.
  2. Prepare a statement of purpose (problem-solution statement)
  3. Start, then it becomes clearer. Just make sure you start.
